Although the Skytower is not a "lost" attraction, the original partnership with Eastern Airlines dissolved after the 1987 season. The Skytower was one of several ways the family could relax and enjoy the views of Carowinds and beyond. The train, the monorail, the cable skyway and the Sternwheeler each offered a different, unique perspective of the park but nothing compared to climbing a 340ft observation tower in a rotating cabin. It is not uncommon to see the Great Smoky Mountain range on a clear day. The tower today, currently sports a beautiful, red, white & blue theme. Many of the aerial photo views on this site were taken from the Skytower and cable skyway.
